Lieberman

Wants McCain. He talks a lot about the war. Maybe he feels more confortable with McCain. I don't. Not any more. As long as Obama can open his mind to military advise on all sides of a question, he'll do the best he can. There's no guarenteed outcome for anything or anybody. Besides being a idealog, people like Elisabeth on the View are scared. They think from emotion and party loyalty. Doesn't matter if the outcome of policy works or not. They find justifications and try to prove one thing or another is what makes the policy work. It's self-serving.

Ideology looks good on paper. Communism looks good on paper. But what happens in human life? Russia collapsed. The people in power bought furs while the ordinary guy had difficulty getting bread and shoes.

Ideology needs to take human nature into consideration. That's what's so good about the Bible. It's full of stories about people doing the bad thing. It's to be expected since we all have the same nature and are capable of good and bad cause it's our nature. It's got lots of examples and rules to help compensate and teach people how get a grip on right. These days there seems to be a lot of slippage, as there always was, but it works better than Communism.

The Founders, I think, took nature's realities into consideration. The left out term limits for President, however. Presidents limited themselves to 2 terms on the tradition of Washington until Roosevelt. 4 terms, wasn't it? Then they made a law against it. Human nature. Both Juilani and what's his name the current mayor of NYC want to extend their administration. But the people won't hear of it. Both were in office in times of majoy stress and maybe feel more important than it usually turns out they are.

See? China had to adopt Capitolism *a?* in order to maintain political control. Cuba and North Korea are small enough that a military control is possible.

But it's about the Republican economic system.

It doesn't seem to work. Free market or trickle down or whatever it's called. I think corporations are trying to break the backs of unions and employees in order to make bigger proffits. It's the only thing that all those huge bonuses and salaries make sense. It's like communism, isn't it. Greed flows to the top and we're all capable of it.

The lower economic classes want what the big guys have. The rich set the standards and standards are rich and greedy and selfish. Corporations don't pass the money down. Human nature's like that. I've known greedy, selfish poor people.

It's in the Bible. Human nature never changes.

But the Republicans will still insist that their ways work for all.

Democrats aren't any better. God helps those who help themselves. Charity begins at home and charity is important. Democrats need to get rational about money is all.

It seems to me that the simplest, most effective mortage deal would be to re organize the terms for as many people as possible so they can pay them and pump money into the system. I know they won't be punished enough for stupidity to suit some, but at least it might off some economic releaf*sp* for the country. Maybe the world. Sometimes you just have to be practicle instead of moralistic.

The important thing is to apply justice and mercy in equal measures. Rationally.

The war? Lincoln didn't have military experience and he did ok. He fired generals and took whatever measures necessary. But he's the one who had political opponents in his cabinet. He seemed to know he had to be president to all the people, not just his party people. I think he could see beyond party ideals.
