I recently discovered lye soap. No, not to use, but how handy it is and how easy it might be to make. Wood ash and hot fat (from rendered stuff)
Easy to make in the BBQ, but not safe to use for cooking thereafter. Find something metal. Maybe galvanized or maybe not. What does galvanizing to to metal? Don't know if it's still food safe.

Said to be harsh. Cut it with some kind of lotion (Thank you Dove soap commercials) and add scent.
Cheap for home use or internet/craft fairs.
