here's the deal

Marriage is not a religious act. Unless people choose that route.

Marriage is a State function. All clergy and other officials must be liscened*sp* by the State to be official. No one needs a church ceremony to be officially wed.

Marriage has nothing to do with the Church. Unless, like I said, people want a religious ceremony. It still has to qualify with the State to be legal.

Gay marriage is just another instance of the religious imposing their religious practices on everyone else. Non believers have no obligation to satisify their God. Or Gods.
