lately

I've seen lots of recipes for Sloppy Joe's lately and guess what? That's right! I just happen to have one that I like. And the secret ingredient? Honey. It really works - really. Add it to your own recipes sometime and see what you think. If you want to only, of course.

Sloppy Jo's

1 tbls oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, chopped
1 bell pepper
2 lbs hamburger (or TVP for most any hamburger recipe)
6 oz can tomato paste
1/2 cup water
1 tsp dried oregano
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 tsp cayenne
1 tsp Worchestershire (optional, but why not?)
1 tbls honey (optional, but try it out)
salt, later
hamburger buns, or whatever kind you like

Saute onion, garlic, bell pepper and ground meat. In a bowl mix the rest and add to the meat. Bring to a boil and add some salt. Live it up.

Add water if too thick. Serve on toasted buns.
